Hey there! My name is Adrian, and I'm a designer with a passion for creating beautiful and engaging experiences. I've honed my skills in design thinking and implementation through my formal education in landscape and urban design. This experience taught me that designers have the flexibility and capacity to solve complex problems outside of architecture. And so, I decided to shift my focus to the tech industry by working as a Product Designer in tech.
I've had the opportunity to live and work in some pretty amazing places, like Albuquerque, Philadelphia, New York City, Dallas and San Antonio, where I gained valuable experience by learning from designers with diverse backgrounds and methodologies. My approach to design is to empathize with users and understand the complexity of the problem we're trying to solve. I believe that design problems are best solved through rigorous research about potential software users and business needs.
Sometimes, different interests and agendas can pull in different directions, but my goal is to blend different points of view together and deliver an engaging experience for users. Designing software is similar to urban design, because it's an iterative process of trial and error aided by research and feedback, and a touch of a designer's intuition. So, I rely on this iterative process throughout my work, researching the user's context and needs, developing a design strategy to meet those needs, and testing prototypes through user feedback. This allows me to deliver an outcome that will solve business needs and an experience that is seamless and rewarding for the user.
I'm currently a Product Designer on the Finance Cloud product team at Rippling, an all-in-one HR, IT & Finance digital platform based in San Francisco, where I’m working on the Spend Management, Time Off, and Time & Attendance applications. When I’m not working, I love going for a jog on nearby trails in the Texas Hill Country, watching Liverpool FC games, and going to a local coffee shop or brewery with my wife and my two Goldendoodles. Some day, I’ll beat my stage fright and jump on a stage to try stand-up comedy.
Thanks for checking out my work, and be sure to keep an eye out for new projects in the future!
